The River City Writers Series at the University of Memphis celebrates its 30th anniversary with a famous memoirist and author; a novelist whose best-known novel was just turned into a film (starring Morgan Freeman and Greg Kinnear) and a prolific poet who has won almost every available prize.
The series also has a new director, Rebecca Skloot, a nonfiction writer whose work appears regularly in The New York Times Magazine, New York magazine and other national publications.
