DeSoto County election officials said Monday they anticipate a voter turnout of possibly as high as 85 percent for the Nov. 4 general election, a record that would test their planning skills.

"We had a 72 percent turnout four years ago, and a number of our precincts did better than 80 percent," said Paul Beale, chairman of the Election Commission.
