With one Shelby County resident dead and record high temperatures predicted, health officials Friday reminded residents to respect the heat and asked them to check vulnerable neighbors and relatives twice a day for signs of distress.
The medical examiner ruled heat played a role in the death of a 54-year-old woman found dead in her Orange Mound area home Wednesday, when the official high was 95 degrees. The office of Dr. Karen E. Chancellor, the county medical examiner, declined to release additional details until toxicology results and a final autopsy were completed.See the full content of this document
