Summary
Many of the azaleas in our area bloom in April. A few commonly grown here are from the Satsuki Azalea group. The name, when translated, means fifth month, so these Japanese azaleas are May bloomers.
We also have a relatively new group of azaleas called Encore Azaleas, which are supposed to bloom in the spring and offer a few blooms sporadically into the fall, when they put on another smaller show. Hence, the name Encore.See the full content of this document
