Impressive wildlife footage captured over six years among the frigid yet apparently defrosting ice shelves of the North Pole region highlights "Arctic Tale," a National Geographic production that edits together documentary shots of numerous animals to create the composite characters of Nanu, a young polar bear, and Seela, a walrus pup.

However many actual bears and walruses appear onscreen as Nanu and Seela, these "children of the Arctic" become irresistible performers, and viewers are certain to be moved by their plight as director-photographer Adam Ravetch and co-director Sarah Robertson depict the disastrous domino effect of warmer ocean temperatures on the animals' fragile hunting, migration and mating grounds.
