Human trafficking and mass atrocities are two of the most distressing crises of our time, and both affect Memphis. A Memphis- based human rights nonprofit organization, Operation Broken Silence , focuses on abolishing slavery in Tennessee and mass atrocities in conflict zones internationally.
O BS was founded in 2006 by Memphians concerned by the genocide developing in Sudan. Since then, the organization has expanded the focus of mass atrocity efforts to include other conflict zones and eventually opened a department that focuses on combating human trafficking.See the full content of this document
