When Cathy and Bucky Stauffer moved from an Arlington subdivision three years ago to the wilds of Tate County, it was with the intention of raising alpacas and goats.
The couple now boast a herd of 11 alpacas, three llamas and a flock of 17 Angora goats and one Pygora goat on their Coldwater Alpaca Ranch. Today, the Stauffers kick off their biennial, two-day shearing and textile appreciation and education event at their 27- acre spread 4 miles east of Independence.See the full content of this document
