In the hunt for new and lasting revenues, Shelby County Mayor A C Wharton has joked about selling the Edmund Orgill Golf Course in Millington, saying in January that doing so could generate "what, $300,000 to $400,000? That's like putting a teacup of gasoline in a limousine - a Ford limousine - and how far can you get on that?"
County commissioners now hope the sale might help fuel the county through at least the next fiscal year, leaving fewer budget cuts in its path.See the full content of this document
