If Memphis seems more livable lately, one person to thank is Sarah Newstok, program manager for Livable Memphis, which has become a force for bike lanes and pedestrian-friendly neighborhoods.
Since Newstok, a New Jersey native with a degree in environmental studies, took the post three years ago, city and county bicycling ordinances have been updated through the group's Walk-Bike Memphis initiative to acknowledge, among other changes, the bicycle's right to be on the road.See the full content of this document
