After nearly a full day of reflection and struggle, John Calipari decided Tuesday to accept the head coaching job at Kentucky and leave the University of Memphis after nine seasons. A news conference to introduce Calipari as the new Kentucky coach will take place at 8:30 a.m. CDT today in Lexington, Ky.

Though word began to leak out at about 5:20 p.m., Calipari confirmed it himself with a text message at 6:27 p.m., reading "I am accepting the uk job! Go Big Blue."
