Rev Run and Wife to Sign Books

Summary

The pioneering rap group Run-DMC broke up in 2002 after one member of the trio, Jason "Jam-Master Jay" Mizell, was shot and killed. Life and success go on, of course, and Run-DMC founder and lead vocalist Joseph "Run" Simmons - now "Rev Run" because of his affiliation with Zoe Ministries - has repositioned himself as a solo performer (he'll be on stage tonight at Mud Island Amphitheatre with Kid Rock ); an MTV reality show personality ("Run's House," now in its fifth season) and an author.

As author, Rev Run and his wife, Justine Simmons, will be at Davis-Kidd Booksellers today at 2 p.m. to discuss and sign their book, "Take Back Your Family" (Gotham Books, $25), a look at the challenges that face families in a culture saturated with media and digital distractions.
