Not Ready to Close Deal -- Wal-Mart Delay to Address 'Loose Ends'

Citing "too many loose ends," the Land Use Control Board on Thursday agreed with concerned neighbors and planners to delay for 30 days its decision on a proposed Wal-Mart Supercenter at Houston Levee and Macon roads.

"This is a billion-dollar decision," said board member Jon McCreery, agreeing with other board members that there were too many unresolved concerns with Wal-Mart's proposal. He called the matter "the biggest decision" the board will make for Cordova.
