I toured Hong Kong recently, taking a flight out of San Francisco, stopping in Hawaii, then heading out farther into the Pacific via Naha, Okinawa and Shanghai, China. From there, I flew to Hong Kong aboard China Eastern Airlines.

In Hong Kong, my base of operations was the Shamrock Hotel. It is located on Kowloon, maybe a 10-minute walk north on Nathan Road from Victoria Harbour. Just about everything important was within easy walking distance.
