Letting the quiet roar their sadness, concern and hope, bicyclists from across the region are expected in Hernando at 7 p.m. Wednesday for the 2011 Ride of Silence to honor all those killed by motorists and one "awesome" Delta rider in particular.

The free event - marked across the U.S. and worldwide - asks cyclists not to speak. But it proclaims sharing the road and awareness of bicycling safety, said city officials and Bo McAninch, co-founder of the Hernando Bicycle Club.
