Program to Promote Black Businesses -- Bba's 'Propel' Aims to Build From Within

The Black Business Association of Memphis is launching "Propel," a program aimed at stimulating economic development by promoting the growth of local small companies within the African-American community.

One way the BBA hopes to achieve that goal is by forming alliances with black ministers to offer free business-education courses for minority entrepreneurs. Another is by encouraging churchgoers to patronize companies owned by members of their own congregations.
