Starting defensive tackle Tony Brown is a University of Memphis graduate. Second-year end Jacob Ford was born in Memphis and was a standout on Melrose's 1998 state championship team. Tackle Eric Taylor, Brown's former Tigers teammate, practiced with the Titans the entire offseason, was waived July 25, returned to Memphis for a sad weekend, and re-signed with the team Tuesday to replace injured Ulrich Winkler.
