WASHINGTON - Efforts are under way to name the Third Street U.S. Post Office for Rev. Kenneth T. Whalum Sr., a former Memphis City Councilman and longtime postal employee.

U.S. Rep. Steve Cohen, D-Tenn., said Wednesday that he is preparing a bill to rename the facility for the 74-year-old retired pastor of Olivet Baptist Church.
