Memphians Fear Longer Lines After Postal Cuts

News that the U.S. Postal Service might cut Saturday mail delivery drew mixed reaction from people standing in lines at Memphis post offices Tuesday, with most treating the potential loss as no more alarming than the loss of CB radios, drive-in movies or the Edsel.

"I don't give a frog's fat rear end," said 45-year-old plumber James Rustenhaven as he stood in line at the Union Avenue Post Office, where the line was backed up to the doorway inside with two clerks slowly dispatching customers and their mail.
