On Tuesday night at the Lions' Club regular meeting, Hernando High School incoming seniors Kelsey Hallmark and Brent Arendale and recent graduate Patrick Scroggins said they owed a debt to the Lions for providing them with an experience that was "incredible," "amazing" and "something we never could have done for ourselves" by sending them to participate in the All-State Lions Club Band competition.

Every year, Lions Club International hosts its annual convention from headquarters in Chicago. A big part of the convention is the performance of big bands, including one from each of the 50 states, and another 50 representing member countries from around the world.
