Retired U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor doesn't have a Facebook page and she doesn't Twitter, but she's helped create an online Web page designed to rekindle an interest in civics among young people.

Speaking at a luncheon at The Peabody Thursday, the 79-year-old former justice said interest in government is so lacking that more people can name judges from "American Idol" than from the Supreme Court.
