Insurer Wants Lawyers Taken Off Katrina Case

GULFPORT, Miss. - State Farm Fire and Casualty Co. is seeking to have policyholders' attorneys thrown off a key Hurricane Katrina insurance case because the insurer claims the lawyers have behaved unethically, according to court papers.

State Farm already has tried to have Oxford attorney Richard "Dickie" Scruggs removed from a different case against the insurer, but the request was rejected by U.S. District Court Judge L.T. Senter Jr. and the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
