Home-schooled athletes won't throw touchdown passes or shoot three-pointers for Shelby County Schools sports teams this fall.

A new Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association bylaw opens the door for home-schoolers to try out for public school teams, but the SCS board decided in a work session Thursday to stick with the district's current policy that requires any athlete to be a "regularly enrolled student" in the system.
