Germantown Police are backing off announced plans to require blood tests this weekend of drivers who appeared to be impaired and refused to take the Breathalyzer test for alcohol.

In a recent news release, the city's police department said it would be enforcing a "no refusal weekend" to combat impaired driving and officers would get a warrant to draw blood if drivers suspected of DUI refused the breath test.
