DeSoto County farmers and ranchers who were hurt by a hard freeze in April are eligible to apply for low-interest emergency loans from the Farm Service Agency (FSA).

Gerald Booker, farm loan manager in FSA's Batesville office, said DeSoto agricultural producers are eligible to seek loans because the county is contiguous to Arkansas, which was declared a major disaster area May 18.
