The lawyer for former Memphis, Light, Gas and Water Division chief Joseph Lee III said the City Council's decision not to pay his client's legal bills could cost the city much more in the long run if Lee decides to sue the city.

"The odds of that are probably great," said Lee's attorney Robert Spence. "No decision has been made, but I do know he very much wanted this to be over, and he may have to make a decision to protect his family's future."
