A group of current and former Shelby County teachers won the Spirit Award again at this year's Race for the Cure . It's the second straight year the group has earned the award.

The group gathers annually to participate in the race as a way to honor and remember their friend, Heather Elkins, a former teacher at Dexter Middle. Most of the team members have worked at the middle school.
