Answering a call for help from the Ronald McDonald House, Allie Durham, an 11th-grade student at Evangelical Christian School, immediately took action and proposed to her peers that the entire school body attempt to fill this need.

After reading an article in The Commercial Appeal, Allie knew that her friends at school would want to help the families who must remain in Memphis for treatment at St. Jude in this small way. Boxes were placed in all of the buildings for students and teachers who brought individually wrapped snacks, cleaning supplies and personal hygiene items.
