Summary


In "Redemption Road," Michael Clarke Duncan - he of the jovial demeanor, canyon-deep timbre and monumental musculature - plays a cowboy-hatted ex-convict and reformed alcoholic who listens to country music and quotes from the works of Shakespeare. "Brother knew how to tell a story," he says, admiringly, of the Bard.

The same can't exactly be said of this much-delayed movie, an earnest calling-card indie for writer-star Morgan Simpson that opens today in 23 theaters in Tennessee, Arkansas, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Florida and Texas.
