ATHENS, Tenn. - An orthopedic surgeon has pleaded guilty to fraud after an investigation found he wrote more than 35,000 unlawful prescriptions for controlled substances.
Dr. Loren Nichols, 40, was first arrested in April 2006, accused of writing prescriptions for himself and friends and family, many of whom worked for him, according to a news release from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.See the full content of this document
