It's not often Memphis gets to rally around one plucky little girl. But it happened Nov. 12 when Deidra Shores, 13, beat out thousands of other youngsters in NBC's "Today" show Kid Reporter Contest.
The Colonial Middle School student had earlier charmed viewers everywhere with her poise and creativity as she parodied Matt Lauer in a video called "Where on Earth is Matt Lauer?" She stopped at various places around Memphis hoping to find him and land an interview while her mother, Vanessa Conner, recorded the search.See the full content of this document
