Shelby County Mayor A C Wharton has asked the County Commission to rethink more than $800,000 in raises approved last week for sheriff's deputies, indicating that not all county employees received a raise this year.
In a letter sent to commissioners, Wharton said he was "deeply concerned" that the raises would create inequity among employees. He also pointed out that the county didn't have funds to support budget adjustments.See the full content of this document
