OXFORD - Life expectancy for men living in Mississippi's Delta is eight years below the national average, and women living in the state's Delta live two years less than the U.S. average, Delta Regional Authority officials said Thursday.

The Mississippi life expectancy averages are lowest among the eight-state Delta region that ranges from southern Illinois to Louisiana.
