She was born in Eaton, Tenn., in Gibson County and graduated from Spring Hill High School. She earned a B.S. in home economics from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. She was married to the late Robert G. Anderson for 62 years. Theresa taught school in Rutherford, Trenton, Dresden, Alamo and Knoxville, Tenn., before retiring as a fourth-grade teacher at the Auburndale School in Cordova. She was a member of Home Economics in Home and Community and Trinity Baptist Church. She leaves a son, Stephen L.
