To the Chinese, the name suggests a possible lineage to one of the most venerated names in Chinese and world history. To Dr. Hsiang- te Kung, geography professor at the University of Memphis, there is no doubt. He is a 75th generation descendant of Confucius, the sage whose philosophy became a way of life in China and much of Asia.
