WASHINGTON - Regional attitudes about what people do - or don't do - in public restrooms came to light during a hearing Wednesday before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

U.S. Reps. Yvette Clark, D-N.Y., and Steve Cohen, D-Tenn., testified about their efforts to pass so-called "gender equity" laws at the state level, and urged the committee to pass the Restroom Gender Parity in Federal Buildings Act (H.R. 4869), which would recognize the need for more women's rest-rooms in federal buildings.
