Summary
Christ Methodist Day School in East Memphis had an art show before school let out for the summer. "Masterpieces Alive" introduced fourth-grade students to 31 artists, including Matisse, Renoir, Cezanne and Rousseau, through an art show that involved research, painting and role-playing.
The students painted their own backdrops and came up with props and costumes to complete their painting. A print of the original painting, along with the names of the original artist and the student artist, were placed in the top corner of each masterpiece so that the touring art critics - faculty, staff, students and guests - could see the likenesses and make comparisons.See the full content of this document
