BENTONVILLE, Ark. - Renovation work on the Wal-Mart Visitors Center, in the original Walton's Five & Dime and an adjacent building in downtown Bentonville, is providing a look at the origins of both the giant retailer and the city.

"We discovered a whole bunch of different artifacts and realized the history behind the buildings was rich, not only for the city of Bentonville, but also for Wal-Mart as a company," said Alan Dranow, director of communications.
