"Pride and Prejudice," the classic romance by Jane Austen, is an unlikely title for an intimate theater-in-the-round production, if only because the scrimshaw language, decorous manners and sumptuous lifestyles presume a more grandiose setting - something more reserved and, I daresay, stuffy.

Yet director John Rone has masterfully staged an engaging jewelbox of a production on the Theatre Memphis Next Stage, employing minimal set pieces and a cast that brings warm gentility to the fusty script.
