LITTLE ROCK - Arkansas' public school system was ranked sixth nationwide by a national education publication Tuesday.

The annual "Quality Counts 2011" report by the foundation- funded, nonprofit Education Week magazine gave the Arkansas public education system a low B grade overall - 81.4 percent, according to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. The national report card tracks policy and performance in six broad categories in the 50 states and the District of Columbia.
